Pre-Pay - Groups and Teams Save Money
Want to pay for your entire team? Have someone who wants to sponsor you or your team? Have a group of friends planning on going to the Gay Games and want to save money? Pre-Pay allows anyone to pay the Base (Part 1) Registration Fee for 5 or more participants at one time. Best of all – you pay the 2004 price – saving $50 per person!
-
Know the number of individuals and/or teams you want to pre-pay (must be 5 or more).
-
Have a check or credit card ready to take care of the fees
-
Call 1-773-907-2006 to register with Pre-Pay
-
Once you’ve pre-paid you will get a confirmation code via e-mail. This code is good for the EXACT number of spots that are pre-paid.
-
Distribute this confirmation code to the individuals you’ve pre-paid.
-
Those individuals will return to this registration website, enter all of their personal information including which sport they are registering for.
-
At the end of registration, those who have pre-paid will be prompted to enter the confirmation code you’ve given them.
-
This code will discount the participants for the Individual Registration Fee, but the participants will still need to pay the Sport Fee (varies per sport).
-
The participant will then be assigned their own confirmation code which they can use to modify their personal registration in the future.

Optimal Browsers
Registration may be accessed through both the Windows®
and Macintosh® System OS9 operating systems. We support the following
browsers and versions for both operating systems:
-
Microsoft® Internet ExplorerTM 5.5 or higher
-
Netscape® NavigatorTM 6.0 or higher
-
America Online® Version 5.0 or higher
We have found that many browsers store information in different
ways. Hence, we recommend that you check your information carefully
before continuing on to the next page. We strongly recommend that
you do not use your browser < back > button at any point while registering.
Once you have filled in the necessary information on each page you will
click on the ‘continue’ button to move to the next page. The time to
move to the next page after you press ‘continue’ may vary depending
upon your type of Internet connection.

Formats & Error Messages
Some information that we will ask of you needs to be
entered into a specific format. Also, you’ll find that some responses
are optional while others are mandatory. If you enter information
in the wrong format or if you skip over a question which is required, when
you click on the ‘continue’ button at the bottom of the page you will be
returned to the top of the page and you will see this error message: “We
need you to correct or provide additional information. Please see each
marked section.” If you see this message, simply
scroll down the page to find the question with incorrect or missing information.
Tip:
Use your TAB key to jump quickly to the next question. Once all questions
on each page are answered, you can use your ENTER key to activate the “Continue”
button. Your ENTER key does not function as a "Return" key while on
the Internet, as it does in a word processing document. Do not hit
ENTER before you are finished filling out the questions on each page.
Support
If you need specialized assistance at any time during
the registration process, choose one of these options:
-
Sport/Cultural Event Support: If you need information about a specific sport or event, or
if you would like to notify us of a suggested adjustment to the registration
system, please contact Chicago Games Inc. via e-mail by visiting your sport or cultural event page, selecting "Manager" and emailing the manager of your event. You may submit general inquiries to: info@gaygameschicago.org. We will attempt to respond to all inquiries within 24 hours during the week, 72 hours over the weekend.
-
Technical/Payment Support: If you need technical or payment related assistance, such as problems with your credit card payment, concerns about possible
duplicate payment, "AVS" errors, or fields where your information doesn't seem to be entered properly
but you can't figure out why, you should
contact the registration site vendor via the ‘Contact Us’ link
at the bottom of every page of registration. If you are no longer on a registration page and
still want to ask your question, visit their general support page at
SignMeUp.com/support where you'll find answers to
frequently asked questions as well as a link for emailing specialized questions.
Capping
Chicago Gay Games VII seeks to enhance the global experience
of the Games for all, as well as reach out to people of different socio-economic
levels. For this reason, there are some sports that will retain openings
for a small level of entrants. Thus, if your sport indicates that
it has been filled, we will ask you to be put into a queue or "waiting
list" for possible inclusion into that event at a later date. Additionally,
there are several sports that will be able to accommodate more than the
initially projected number of participants and these may also "open up" to more
participants at a later date. Refunds are available if you enter the waiting list and are unable to obtain an entry.
Overview of the Registration Process
There are 5 pages to complete prior
to receiving your summary and proceeding to payment checkout.

-
You will be asked to enter an e-mail address. We recommend
using an e-mail address that is not likely to change before the Games (i.e.,
not a professional address). If you have no regular e-mail access or wish
to create a permanent address, we suggest creating a web-based e-mail account.

Release Waiver and Policies
-
The Release
Waiver is a legal document that you must read carefully. We have provided
it here so that you may read it before you begin the registration process. The text will appear again on Page 1.
You will be asked to indicate that you have read and agree to the Release
Waiver.
-
Depending upon your response to the gender question, you
may be asked to indicate that you have read and agree to the Gender
Policy.
-
If you are registering for Physique, Power Lifting or Wrestling,
you will be required to indicate that you have read and agree to the Drug
Testing Policy.
-
You will also be asked to agree that you have read and understand
the Refund Policy, found at the bottom of the Fees
page.

Optional Survey Questions
To get to know you better, we’d like to ask you a few
optional survey questions. Your responses will help in three areas:
-
Assist us in planning Gay Games VII.
-
Assist the Federation in planning future Gay Games.
-
Provide us with information that will help us attract new
sponsors, thus ensuring the financial success of this Gay Games and future
Gay Games.
-
Again, these questions are optional. Feel free to simply
scroll down to the bottom of the page to continue the registration process.

Sport/Culture Participation Fee
>Your Sport/Culture Participation Fee varies dependent
upon the event. To complete your registration, you must pay both parts
of the fee -- the Registration Fee and the Participation Fee. Full
details about fees, including what is covered, and the specific Participation
Fees for each sport and cultural event may be seen on our Fees
page.
Registering for more than one activity
When you register, you will pay the one-time base Registration
Fee of $125, plus the Participation Fee for the sport and/or cultural event(s)
of your choice. You must choose at least one sport and/or cultural event
at the time of your registration. You may select multiple sports on Page
3 during registration. If you register at a later date for additional
sports or cultural events, you will pay ONLY the additional activity Participation
Fee. You will receive a confirmation number at the conclusion of your registration
process to use if registering for an additional sport or cultural event.
So, for example, if you register in 2004 and choose “Swimming” and “Band”
you would pay $125 Registration Fee PLUS $35 Swimming Fee PLUS $35 Band
Fee, or a total of $195.
Because selecting more than sport might present you with a scheduling problem, you are asked to confirm that you have checked the schedule and recognize that there are no refunds except for those identified in the refund policy. (see image below)

Pages 4 & 5
Sports/Cultural Specific Question
Each sport or cultural event has its own unique set of
questions. For physique, power lifting, rowing and wrestling, you
will be asked for your expected weight in kilos (weight in pounds) ÷
2.2 = (weight in kg). For physique, you will be asked for your height
in centimeters (height in inches) x 2.54 = (height in cm). If you
need to convert pounds to kilos or feet/inches to centimeters, we recommend
that you do this prior to beginning the registration process.
Licenses/Membership
Below is a list of sports that will require membership
to a sanctioning organization. Even if you do not have a license number
or membership number at this time, you may still proceed with registration
now. We may contact you later to request this information. For more information
about license or membership requirements, please refer to the Competition
Details section of your sport.
| Bowling |
Figure Skating |
Triathlon |
| Cycling |
Power Lifting |
Wrestling |
| Diving |
Swimming |
Water Polo |
Once again, even if you do not currently have this information,
you may proceed with registration now. Prior to the Games, you will be
required to provide proof of membership if you are participating in one
of the sports mentioned above.
Partners & Pairs
Both partners and pairs are defined as a group of two
participants. Rules (divisions, gender, etc.) vary by sport. Be sure to
read the Competition Details for your sport carefully before indicating
whom your partner will be. Below is a list of sports that may include partners
or pairs competition:
| Badminton |
Darts |
Racquetball |
| Beach Volleyball |
Diving |
Rowing |
| Bowling |
Figure Skating |
Tennis |
| DanceSport |
Physique |
|
* Note - participants in Diving will indicate partners on
site during the Games
If you register before your partner, give your partner
the confirmation number that you will receive at the end of the registration
process. When your partner registers he or she will be asked to enter your confirmation number.
If your partner registers before you, ask for
his or her confirmation number. You will be asked to enter his/her number.
If you are unsure who your partner will be, or if you
would like us to assign a partner to you, you may skip this question. For
some sports you may be able to choose your partner at the Gay Games. In
any case, you will have the opportunity to tell us who your partner will
be at a later date.
Teams
Teams are defined as a group of more than two participants.
Rules for teams (divisions, gender, etc.) vary by sport. Be sure to read
the Competition Details for your sport carefully. Below is a list of sports
that may include Teams:
| Basketball |
Ice Hockey |
Swimming* |
| Bowling |
Rowing |

Soccer (Football) |
|
| Golf |

|
* All swimming teams/relays will be determined during the Games.
Team Captains
If you are the Team Captain, ideally you should be the
first member of your team to register. During registration, if you indicate
that you are the team captain (see image above for example of how
this will appear) you will be asked a few questions about your team. You
will not need a roster of your team members for registration. At the end
of the registration process, you will receive a confirmation number. Give
this number to anyone who you want to register as a member of your team.
If you are a member of a team, ask your Team Captain
for his or her confirmation number. You will be asked to enter this number
along with the team name (see image for example of how this will appear).
You do not need to delay your registration if you are NOT the Team Captain
and are registering before your Team Captain. You may still register now
and submit your captain’s confirmation code to us at a later date.
If you are not currently a member of a team, you may skip
this question and continue with registration. Team requirements are different
for each sport. Be sure to read the Competition Details for your sport.
In some cases:
-
You will have the opportunity to join a team at a later date.
-
You may be able to join or develop a team during the Games.
-
You may allow us to place you on a team.
Please see the sports and culture pages on this website
for more specific information about various activities.

Confirmation Number
Once you have completed registration, you will receive
a confirmation number and bar code. You will receive an additional confirmation
number each time you return to registration to add additional. Please
print all confirmation numbers and bring them with you to Accreditation.
Confirmation numbers are very important. Please keep them, along
with your User ID and Password, in a safe place.
You will need this confirmation number to add an additional
sport. If you are a team captain, give the confirmation number to your
team members so that when they register, they are automatically linked
to your team. If you have a partner (see list of partner/pairs sports above)
who has not yet registered, give the confirmation number to your partner/pair.
We will ask for your number if we need to change any of your registration
information (such as contact information).
Never give out your User ID and Password, but it is safe
to give out your confirmation number for the purposes identified above.
