Gay Games® VII marks the return of the quadrennial event to North America for the first time since 1994. Boston area athletes, artists and fans are invited to a special information session presented by Chicago organizers of the event scheduled for 15-22 July 2006 in the Windy City. Presented in cooperation with Boston’s LGBT sports alliance, PrideSports Boston, the information session will take place Saturday, October 2nd at Fritz Lounge, 26 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116 from 2-6pm with a presentation at 4pm. All are welcome. There is no charge to participate.

Gay Games VII Sports Co-Directors Suzanne Arnold and Sam Coady will travel to Boston for the presentation. Both Arnold and Coady have been involved in LGBT sports as competitors and organizers for more than 15 years. Arnold was a founding member of the Women’s Division of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) and was the first woman to be inducted into that organization’s Hall of Fame. She has managed softball and basketball leagues in Chicago, is the former co-chair of Team Chicago and has been part of the Gay Games movement since 1986. Coady is the founder and former director of the Chicago Hoops Classic, the largest annual gay basketball tournament in the world outside of the Gay Games. He served on the Windy City Athletic Association Board of Directors for 15 years, and has qualified for 16 consecutive NAGAAA Softball World Series.

Arnold and Coady will also be heard on “One in Ten,” Boston’s award-winning radio program for the gay & lesbian community, Sunday, September 26th. Hosts Sue O’Connell and Keith Orr will interview Arnold and Coady about Gay Games VII. Founded in 1992, “One in Ten” is the country’s longest running radio program of its kind. The show airs every Sunday night 10pm-midnight on Boston’s WFNX radio, 101.7FM.
