Welcome to the Gay Games VII Partners Program! Launched in November of 2004, our partner program has already received enthusiastic support from sports and culture organizations and we are excited to welcome our first partners to the program.
All sports and culture organizations - large and small - that represent participants or potential participants in the Gay Games are eligible to join. To learn more, view the online program description or download the application form.
Athletes and artists - feel free to contact these organizations directly for more information on membership, volunteering, or how you can get involved in the preparations for Gay Games VII.
Federation of Gay Games
The Federation of Gay Games is the international governing body that perpetuates the quadrennial Gay Games and promotes the event's founding principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best™. FGG members are designated with an √.
Team San Francisco √
Representing the home city of the Gay Games movement, Team San Francisco provides a local sports network and coordinates travel, uniforms, lodging and participation by the 1500 Bay Area athletes and artists expected at Gay Games VII.
Association Sportive Le Coq Musclé
Le Coq Musclé is a bodybuilding (physique) and powerlifting association based in Paris, France, established to support participation in the Gay Games through demonstrations, coordinated travel, and fundraising.
Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association
Chicago MSA serves over 2,000 men and women who play bowling, flag football, softball, tennis, volleyball and (new in 2005!) badminton. For Gay Games VII, many members will host athletes, manage tournaments, and welcome all to Chicago.
Fédération Sportive Gaie et Lesbienne √
The French Federation promotes LGBT sport in France, coordinates French participation in the Gay Games, hosts a large multi-sport tournament in May, and facilitates networking between sport-specific clubs and individuals.
Gay and Lesbian Organization for Racing and Yachting
An international organization, GLORY provides a voice for gays & lesbians in the sport of sailing and encourages and assists individual sailors, clubs and teams. GLORY coordinated early Gay Games VII registration among its sailing clubs.
Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance √
GLTA is an international organization that manages and sanctions the worldwide LGBT tennis circuit. With 40 member clubs and 40 sanctioned tournaments, 5,500 players will participate in GLTA sanctioned tournaments this year.
Gay Sport South Africa
GSSA encourages participation in sport by LGBT persons throughout the nation of South Africa, and with Team South Africa coordinates participation by athletes in international sporting events such as the Gay Games and EuroGames.
Gay West Village Bicycling Club Toronto
Now in it's third year, with 84 registered members, GWVBC is the only dedicated gay and lesbian bicycle club in City of Toronto. All are welcome, regardless of ability. A laid-back weekly cycling and city touring club.
Golden Gate Wrestling Club
GGWC is one of the oldest LGBT friendly wrestling clubs, founded before Gay Games I. It has a strong mainstream recreation program in San Francisco catering to all levels of wrestlers and is affiliated with BAWA, USAW and FILA.
Greater Long Beach Sports Association
GLBSA was formed by 12 local sports organizations in the Greater Long Beach area to coordinate activities between each Gay Games, and to coordinate the overall Long Beach presence at Gay Games VII.
Harbour City Wrestling Club
Sydney, Australia-based HCWC fosters a real interest in amateur wrestling, and welcomes participation, whatever the background, gender or experience. The club attracts all kinds of wrestlers from beginners to champion wrestlers.
International Association of Gay and Lesbian Martial Artists √
Formed at Gay Games III in Vancouver, Canada, IAGLMA is dedicated to outreach, inclusion and education for the gay, lesbian and supportive martial arts communities at the local, national and international levels.
International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics √
IGLA is the world's foremost intl organization devoted to developing and promoting LGBT swimming, water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming. IGLA's members include 70 aquatics clubs serving nearly 10,000 people in 16 nations.
International Gay and Lesbian Football Association √
IGLFA fosters self-respect and understanding through the medium of football (soccer). They work to establish an international network of football clubs and to promote physical and tactical understanding of the game of football.
International Gay Bowling Organization √
IGBO is an 24-year-old international LGBT organization of bowling leagues, tournaments and individual bowlers. IGBO has almost 200 member leagues with over 17,000 individual bowlers in four countries and sanctions over 60 tournaments.
International Gay Figure Skating Union √
IGFSU serves the individual skater and the broader figure skating community by maintaining ISI memberships, coordinating ISI testing, and coordinating the sanctioning and excellence of the Gay Games. Individual memberships available.
Lesbian and Gay Band Association (Team Band) √
Comprised of 26 concert and marching bands from cities across the world, LGBA provides a network for bands at all stages of development, promotes music as a means of communication, and improves the artistic quality of member bands.
Long Beach Grunions
If you can swim a length of the pool without drowning, you can swim with us! The Long Beach Grunions are a totally cool, really fun, high energy swim team and social club for gays, lesbians and their friends. Long Beach, Southern California.
National Gay Basketball Association
Yes, basketball now has an LGBT organization of its very own. The new NGBA was born to serve US-based LGBT basketball leagues but is quickly become an international association with affiliations in 7 countries.
Niji-Kan Karate Do
Founded in 1993, Paris-based Niji-Kan is a martial arts organization affiliated with IAGLMA and the French Federation (FSGL). Niji-Kan means "rainbow karate" in Japanese. The group is open to all people of all experience levels.
Out for Sport √
Founded in 1998, UK-based Out for Sport serves as an umbrella organization for almost 50 sporting clubs in the UK, helps coordinate the UK presence in the Gay Games, promotes sport locally, and facilitates joint sports programming.
SC Janus e.V. √
Koln, Germany-based SC Janus is a multi-sport organization with over 1,100 members participating in 32 sports, with activities every day of the week. Koln, Germany, is the 4th largest city in Germany with just under 1 million residents.
Southern California Muscle
SoCal Muscle is a non-profit, volunteer organization for the support, education and training of iron game athletes - an info source for the novice competitor, a place for info on healthy powerlifting and bodybuilding from veterans.
Team Adelaide
Promoting LGBT sport in South Australia, Team Adelaide coordinates local Gay Games presence, and with its affiliates organizes tennis, bowling, golf, running, DanceSport, squash, cycling, soccer, swimming, netball, sailboarding, and volleyball.
Team Chicago √
Founded in 1989, Team Chicago is proud to welcome the world to its home town. Team Chicago will help coordinate Chicago area athlete at the Gay Games, and play a key role in the hosted housing program for other athletes.
Team Colorado
Formed in 1982 to send athletes to the first Gay Games, Team Colorado now serves more than 200 athletes and artists from the Rocky Mountain State and will coordinate Colorado's presence at Gay Games VII.
Team Houston
Team Houston was created to promote sports in general within the GLBT community, as well as to coordinate "Team Houston" for the Gay Games including uniforms, travel, social functions, team building and more.
Team Indiana
Team Indiana is a group whose goal is to organize individuals and sports teams to represent Indiana as participants in the Gay Games VII. They will provide information, coordinate travel, and hold interim sporting events.
Team New York
Team New York fosters the personal growth, self-esteem and self-confidence of LGBT athletes, artists and their supporters and their organizations in the tri-state area through participation in year-round athletic, cultural and social events.
Team Palm Springs
Team Palm Springs promotes awareness, support for and coordinates participation in the Gay Games by athletes, artists and fans in the desert cities of California's Coachella Valley.
Team Philadelphia √
Team Philadelphia is the Delaware Valley's official delegation to the Gay Games, with members meeting and training with other athletes, and supporting one another, and coordinating travel, uniforms and lodging for Gay Games VII.
TOGS-Team South Africa √
TOGS (The Organization for Gay Sport) Team South Africa is the oldest gay sport and recreation body in Johannesburg South Africa - umbrella body for sports including swimming, frontrunning, tennis, volleyball, and social events.
Team Toronto √
Team Toronto promotes the involvement and participation of local athletes in the Gay Games, facilitates travel plans coordinates local promotional events and helps dress its members in the Team Toronto uniform.
Team Vancouver √
Team Vancouver is a multi-sport organization serving Vancouver, Canada's LGBT community, and coordinates Vancouver's representation in the Gay Games.
Queer Utah Aquatic Club
QUAC promotes participation in swimming and water polo by the LGBT and supportive communities in Utah. QUAC members practice three times a week, receive professional coaching, and are one of IGLA's premiere aquatics clubs.
Voile et Croisière en Liberté
VCL encourages gays and lesbians of all nationalities who are or could become passionate about sailing to meet each other and sail together - confirmed skippers as well as beginners. Seven VCL sailing teams will compete in Gay Games VII.
Vorspiel SSL Berlin e.V √
Vorspiel Berlin is one of the largest LGBT sports clubs
in Europe with nearly 1200 members in over 30 different sports and health-oriented sports groups. For the last 18 years the club has kept gays and lesbians on the move.
West Hollywood Aquatics
WH2O is a Masters swimming and water polo club based in West Hollywood, California, with over 190 members including gay, lesbian, and straight athletes and fitness enthusiasts from all over the Greater Los Angeles area.
Women's Sports Association
10-year-old Chicago-based WSA has more than 500 members working to foster harmony, sportswomanship, and leadership. WSA manages athletes in softball, golf, tennis, cycling, volleyball, racquetball, basketball and dance.
Wrestlers WithOut Borders √
WWB is dedicated to the promotion and development of the noble Olympic sport of Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling. With 13 member clubs internationally, WWB also connects individuals with local wrestling clubs.
