Travel by Air
Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, serving as an important “hub” for many incoming and outgoing flights.
New additions to the airport include many unique shopping and dining opportunities. Many favorite Chicago restaurants including the Berghoff Restaurant, Gold Coast Dogs, Lou Mitchell’s and Goose Island Microbrewery can now be found in the terminal buildings.
O’Hare also boasts a branch of the Chicago Children’s Museum, the Museum of Broadcast Communications, meeting and conference facilities, a business center, post office, health club and medical offices.
Travel by Road
Chicago is located in the middle of the United States and is a hub for
dozens of major expressway and highway systems. It is probably one of the
easiest cities to get to because every major national expressway connects
into the city either directly or through another branch. The Midwest and
Chicago are easy to access because you are basically driving across
farmlands and prairies to get to the city--there are no mountains or oceans,
just long, flat roads into the city.
Travel by Rail
Union Station’s convenient location and low-cost train and bus fares have made it the fastest growing Train Station in North America and the fourth fastest growing Bus Depot in the world.
Immigration/HIV
The United States welcomes millions of international visitors every year. Foreign citizens who wish to travel to the United States should visit the Department of State website to learn what documentation will be required upon entering the United States.
