University Housing ("dorms")
Make sure you’re close to all the excitement without all the hassle and stay at University Center or the Herman Crown Center. Conveniently located in Chicago’s South Loop you’ll be steps away from numerous restaurants, shopping, entertainment and cultural venues. Fast and easy public transportation is located just outside your doorstep, having you only minutes from Chicago’s magnificent lakefront, world-renowned Millennium and Grant Parks, marvelous museums and landmarks.
Two university housing options are available. University Center is only available to groups of 10 or more. New Info as of 16 March 2006: The Herman Crown Center is now available for both groups and individuals. Individuals seeking a group booking at University Center should contact their local city team to encourage a group booking, or consider Hosted Housing or Hostelling Chicago.
 University Center
University Center, located at 525 S. State Street (map) in Chicago's South Loop, offers guests enjoyable overnight accommodations with access to the building's recreation area, fitness center, outdoor terrace, dining center, retail services. In addition, guests are welcomed to kitchen and laundry facilities for a stay that’s as comfortable as home! All units are fully furnished and include free internet access and local calls.
4 Bedroom Apartment
An apartment style unit with four private twin bedrooms, two baths and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and stove-top oven, as well as a comfortable living and dining area. The cost is $69 per bedroom, single occupancy, two night minimum stay. Minimum occupancy requirements may apply.
Quad Semi Suite
Two bedrooms with two extra long twin beds in each room with a semiprivate bath. The cost is $53.50 per person, double occupancy, and $87.50 per room, single occupancy. Two night minimum price includes one meal per day in the University Center Dining Center.
Standard linen service is provided with your room rates and includes weekly linen and cleaning service. An extra long twin bed, blanket, pillow, sheets, towels, desk with chair, bookshelves, closet with organizer and alarm clock are provided in each unit.

 Herman Crown Center/Roosevelt University
Roosevelt University’s Residence Life program would like to extend a warm welcome to the summer 2006 Gay Games!
Looking for inexpensive accommodations for your team? Stay with us in the Herman Crown Center (HCC)!
Located in the heart of downtown Chicago at 425 S. Wabash Street (map), HCC offers participants and their families dormitory-style accommodations with community restroom facilities on each floor. The rooms are equipped with basic cable and high-speed Internet connections, long twin beds, dressers, closets, mirrors, and door locks. A basic linen packet that includes a small towel, pillow and case, two bed sheets, and a blanket can be rented for a one-time $40 fee. In addition to providing personal items, guests may also want to bring small room fans as the temperatures can rise in the summer and our ventilation for air conditioning is very low.
Individual and group reservations are currently being accepted.
Room rates are:
Basic Double Room: $400 per person, per nine days
Single Room**: $500 per person, per nine days
A nine day minimum is required for all members of the group. Contact us to add additional nights to your stay. Guests wanting a shorter stay may do so but rooms will not be pro-rated. Guests must be 18 years or older unless accompanied by an adult. ** Single rooms have limited availability. The standard $300 per room security deposit is waived for Gay Games groups.
